"The Joy of Motherhood Comes in Moments"

"There'll be hard times and frustrating times, but amid the challenges are shining moments of joy and satisfaction." Elder Ballard Made this statement in General Conference last week. I've been able to recognize more of these little moments this week and wanted to share some of my joyful moments of motherhood.

1. Our bathroom door sometimes seems to be shut, but really isn't latched in all the way. Well, this was the case on Monday. I was teaching lessons and though that Jesse was safely playing in the babyproofed play area that I set up for him while I teach. One of my students was in the middle of her song when I heard the toilet seat slam and immediately rushed in to the bathroom to find this. Apparently the bathroom door wasn't closed tightly. Boys will be boys?


2. Tuesday morning I was just finishing a bowl of cereal when Jesse came up to my legs begging for a bite. I gave him a few bites of what I had left and then, much to his disapproval, showed him that it was "all gone." He kept whining and reaching for the bowl so I decided to let him have it so that he could figure out that he couldn't get any more out of it. He then proceeded to prove me wrong. As soon as he got the bowl he starting wiping his hand across the thin film of milk left over in the bowl and licking his fingers. THAT'S MY BOY!


3. Something that Jesse just seemed to figure out without any encouragement from us is dancing. His dancing always makes me smile. What can I say.... they boy's got rhythm.

4. Finally, Jesse always wants to come take all the silverware out and throw it on the floor when I'm loading or unloading the dishwasher so we've turned it into a game that makes both of us content. (We also play this game with the laundry).

I love being Jesse's Mom! He takes some work but he's definitely well worth it and makes me so happy! Even if it is in moments.
