We spent Christmas Eve Night over at Grandma and Grandpa Baker's so that we could share Christmas with not only them but Dave's sister Julie, her husband Mathew and super cute daughter Bridget who were visiting from Tuscon, and Dave's brother Matt. I don't think I've ever started Christmas morning so late. It was great!! We let the baby's sleep in, then had a scrumptious french toast breakfast with, our favorite, buttermilk syrup, and then finally got around to opening gifts and seeing what Santa Claus left.
Jesse actually spotted one his gifts from Santa while we were eating breakfast and it was all we could do to keep him away from it while we finished. I'm sad that I didn't take any stills of Christmas morning this year. We've only got video so that's what I've got to share. These are some clips of Jesse with some of his presents. Just FYI.....nothing terribly exciting happens. I think he liked his gifts but he shows almost no emotion.
Christmas overall was a pretty busy couple days for us. As I mentioned in my last post, we had Christmas Eve dinner with my extended family in Highland, then drove out to Springville that night to have a sleep over with Dave's family. We spent Christmas morning there but drove to my parents' house in Orem at noon to talk to my brother Aaron who's on his mission in Chicago and exchange gifts with my family, then drove back to Springville to have Christmas dinner and spend the rest of the night with the Bakers. We took too long at my house though and missed Christmas dinner with everyone. :( Yeah...we probably tried to fit in a little too much, but we didn't want anyone to have any fun without us....ya know? After we put the babies to bed that night we had fun playing with Grandma Baker's Wii fit. Dave is the proud champion of the hula hoop competition. Oh man do I wish I had some video of that! You would never guess those hips could move like that.
These are some pictures of Jesse getting his gifts from my family Christmas afternoon.
This was, by far, Jesse (and mommy's) favorite Christmas present. A Vacuum! Now he can help me vacuum instead of just crying because he wants to "do it."
