Dave turned 26 years young on June 9th. His birthday was right in the middle of a crazy week which included our anniversary, my cousin's wedding, his brother's bachelor party, wedding dinner, and wedding, and both of our families and extended families in town for the occasions. For fear of not getting any time on his birthday to celebrate, I decided to surprise him by celebrating his B-day early, the Saturday before. Our friends the Ellis's and I took him out to dinner to Tucanos (which was really, really good that night), and while we were out Dave's friends were over at our place setting up a big Halo party with 2 systems and 2 TV's. Dave didn't know this was happening.
His friends did such a great job! When we got back all of the lights were off, our furniture was rearranged, and the only light was coming from our TV which had the "Halo" screen up and theme music playing (what excellent presentation)!! After a little bit his friends all came out and yelled, "surprise!" Dave still didn't really know what was going on so I had to explain that they were all here for his "Halo" birthday party. He wasn't sure if he should be excited or not at first because he wasn't sure if I would approve. But when I told him it was my idea then he was able ro relax and get excited. Thank you to all of Dave's friends who helped everything work out the way it did! You guys are the best!
I didn't get a picture of that night but this pic was taken on Dave's birthday when a couple of his friends decided to come over and help him "celebrate" some more.
Oh, the best part for me was that after I put Jesse to bed, the wives and I got to go to a movie while the guys played. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to set stuff like this up more often.
Dave's sister Julie sent him this birthday email and I just wanted to share. (I might have helped her come up with some of these).
